My Positions

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Democrat, Hillsborough District 11

"Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer."

John F. Kennedy

On marriage equality: Same-sex couples should have the same rights as opposite-sex couples. I married my wife this past June, and marriage equality is important to me.

On income and sales taxes: The absence of a state income tax and a general sales tax is part of the New Hampshire Advantage, and I will fight to keep it that way.

On Common Core: It is rare that teachers' unions and school choice organizations share an opinion on education. Common Core is unpopular among both these groups for lots of good reasons. I am against data collection on children and forced standardized tests. Every child is a unique individual and should be treated as such.

On the criminal justice system: Criminal justice reform has the potential to alleviate many important problems. The human and economic toll of the War on Drugs is staggering. It's time to be honest about the costs of drug prohibition.

I volunteer at two non-profit organizations, one of which is Upreach Therapeutic Riding Center, which serves the needs of children and adults with disabilities.
